Blake Dwyer, Principal – Stonepeak

Blake Dwyer is a Principal with Stonepeak and a member of the Board of Directors of TRAC Intermodal, Seapeak, and Intrado. Prior to Stonepeak, Blake was a member of the Energy Group at J.P. Morgan, focused on the power, utilities, and renewable energy sectors. Blake received a B.S. in Economics from Duke University.

Tom Heimgartner, President, Best Transportation

An industry leader, Tom Heimgartner brings more than 50 years of transportation experience. In 1982, Tom founded Best Transportation as a one truck operation, which has evolved into one of the largest and most successful intermodal trucking companies in the Port of New York and New Jersey with over 100 trucks servicing the northeast through The Ports of New York and New Jersey, Philadelphia & Baltimore. Tom is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Bi-State Motor Carriers and a member of the Board of the Intermodal Carriers Conference of the ATA.
Participating in Port Authority’s Clean trucks focus group, the Port Productivity Task Force and working directly with terminal operator’s, cargo owners and shippers; Tom is an advocate for improving the work environment, productivity, safety and sustainability of intermodal transportation and a proponent for the growth and efficiency of the Port of New York and New Jersey.

Sean McShane, President C&K Trucking

Sean McShane oversees all operations at C&K Trucking with a focus on providing excellent on-time service to customers. He has been part of C&K Trucking for more than a decade. Prior to joining C&K, Sean started and was President of TMS (Transportation Made Simple), a large intermodal drayage company in New Jersey. Sean built TMS to over 200 trucks and seven terminals. He previously held management positions at Maersk and BTT. Prior to Maersk/BTT, Sean served in the U.S. Marine Corp.

James Houghtalin, Chief Risk Officer and AVP COSCO SHIPPING Lines

James Houghtalin is Chief Risk Officer and AVP of COSCO SHIPPING Lines North America, Inc. Previously, he was Deputy General Manager of the Commercial Division, responsible for vendor procurement, contract review, regulatory compliance and legal issues. James was a Marketing and Economics major at Griffith University and earned a J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law.

Bethann Rooney, Director Port Authority NY & NJ

Bethann Rooney started at the Port Authority in 1993 and has held a series of progressively higher-level management positions. She was appointed Deputy Port Director in April 2019 after serving as the Port’s Assistant Director overseeing policy, planning, legislative and regulatory affairs, as well as environmental sustainability, performance and efficiency. She began her career as a port captain/vessel agent for General Steamship Corporation. She is a graduate of the State University of New York Maritime College with a master’s degree in international transportation and a bachelor’s degree in marine transportation with qualifications as a Third Mate. She is an Accredited Marine Port Executive from the International Association of Maritime and Port Executives.

Joseph S. Gregorio, Jr. President and Chief Operations Officer PCMC

Joseph S. Gregorio, Jr. joined PCMC in 1996. Mr. Gregorio Jr. has spent his time at PCMC learning the business from the ground up and has been integral to PCMC’s success over the years. Currently, Mr. Gregorio Jr. oversees all Pacific Companies’ day to day operations across all locations and all equipment types, as well as all terminal operations and corporate operations. Mr. Gregorio Jr. has served in various management roles over the years overseeing locations coast wide. These locations include POLB/POLA CA, Port Hueneme CA, Oakland CA, Tacoma WA and Seattle, WA.

Zach Russell, AVP of Premium Operations for Union Pacific Railroad

Zach Russell is the AVP of Premium Operations for Union Pacific Railroad, responsible for all Intermodal and Automotive terminal operations across the railroad’s system. As a career “intermodalist”, Zach has worked in multiple roles covering every facet of rail intermodal operations, including ramp operations, intermodal network operations, equipment & car distribution, and intermodal maintenance & repair. He has received many rail intermodal awards during his career. Zach received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham.

Jason Kirin, President of Columbia Group

Jason Kirin serves as President, Columbia Group. Before joining Columbia Container Services, he was Manager of Leasing and Property Development in the Port Commerce Department for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey where he managed all real estate leasing activity for the third largest U.S. seaport. He managed a staff of Leasing Representatives and negotiated commercial real estate leases for container terminals, rail yards, auto terminals, bulk facilities and industrial warehouses. Earlier, Jason managed the state and federal intergovernmental and legislative affairs for the Port Commerce Department. Before joining the Port Authority, he served as Chief of Staff for the New Jersey Commerce and Economic Growth Commission. Jason earned an undergraduate degree from Drew University and a master’s degree from Rutgers University.

Joe Perez, President Integrated
Industries

Joe Perez is President of Integrated Industries, a full-service supplier of intermodal services including container/chassis maintenance and repair, storage and depot services, chassis refurbishment programs, trucking and equipment sales. The company has offices in Woodbridge, NJ, Chicago, Savannah and Houston. He has been in the maritime industry for more than 30 years and is an industry pioneer. He took over the family business of Joseph Vina Ship Maintenance in the 1970s which became the foundation for his formation of American Maritime Services and Integrated Industries in the early 1990s.

Thomas Piatak, Owner and CEO Magellan Transport Logistics

Thomas Piatak is the founder of Magellan Transport Logistics, one of three successful logistics companies he launched. The company became one of P&G’s U.S. carriers in 2018.
Thomas is a graduate of West Point, was a Captain in the U.S. Army and a combat engineer during Operation Desert Storm. He received an MBA from University of North Florida.

Robert F. Sappio, CEO SeaCube Container Leasing

Robert F. Sappio is CEO of SeaCube Container Leasing Limited, one of the world’s largest operating lessors of containers. He joined SeaCube as chief operating officer and was promoted to his current role in 2017. Prior to SeaCube, Robert held positions as president, Americas Region, Rickmers-Linie and managing director, Alvarez & Marsal. Earlier, he spent nearly 30 years at APL, Ltd. Rising to senior vice president responsible for APL’s commercial activities in the trans-Pacific, trans-Atlantic, and Latin American regions.
