Domestic Chassis Pools

TRAC Intermodal™ has a national domestic chassis pool at railroad terminals throughout the US and Mexico.

The national domestic pool network operates at over 75 intermodal rail terminals owned and operated by major Class 1 railroads including the Burlington Northern Santa Fe, CSX, Norfolk Southern, Union Pacific, Canadian National, Canadian Pacific, Kansas City Southern, and the Florida East Coast Railways. Chassis are free flowing among all these facilities, giving customers the ability to pick up and drop off at different locations.

Chassis in the national domestic chassis pool are used by railroad customers who use rail owned 53’ domestic containers managed within programs such as EMP and UMAX, or by customers who own and operate their own 53′ domestic containers including Motor Carriers, IMC’s, Freight Brokers, Shippers and other companies that use rail transportation. Rates are structured on either a casual per use basis, or on an agreement to use a minimum volume of chassis. Maintenance and repair and access to our PoolStat® software for extensive reporting are all included.
